Town midfielder Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu made his 300th appearance for the Hatters on Saturday when he featured in the 3-2 defeat at West Bromwich Albion.

9. Syd Owen - Appearances: 423. Goals: 3.
Moved to Luton from Birmingham for £1,500 in 1947 and went on to become club captain, skippering the Hatters to the top flight and FA Cup Final, also playing for England in the 1954 World Cup. Brief spell as manager after retiring too.
10. Bob Hawkes - Appearances: 410. Goals: 48.
Joined Luton in 1900 and appeared in the 1908 Summer Olympics, winning gold, while also played five times for England. Turned professional in 1911 for the Hatters, staying at Kenilworth Road until retiring as a 39-year-old in 1920.
11. David Preece - Appearances: 395. Goals: 27.
Joined Luton from Walsall for £150,000 plus Steve Elliot in 1984. Scored the winner against Aston Villa on his debut and played in the Littlewoods Cup Final win over Arsenal in 1988. Moved to Derby in 1995, but sadly died aged just 44 in 2007.
12. Matthew Spring - Appearances: 357. Goals: 43.
Joined Luton as a schoolboy and made his debut 1997, going on to score a stunning goal at Watford in a 2-1 win in 2002. Headed to Leeds in 2004, but then returned to Kenilworth Road in January 2007 for another two seasons.
