Town boss Nathan Jones will be looking to grab a cup of coffee with ex-Hatter Jack Stacey if he returns to Kenilworth Road with Bournemouth this afternoon.

The 24-year-old was signed by Jones during his first spell as Luton manager, arriving from Reading in June 2017.

He went on to make 95 appearances, scoring five goals for the Hatters in a wonderful spell in Bedfordshire, playing a huge role in the club’s promotion to the Championship, winning three trophies at the club’s awards presentation that campaign, including Luton Town Supporters Trust Player of the Season.

Like fellow full back James Justin, the Premier League came calling and Stacey was snapped up by the Cherries in the summer of 2019 for a fee believed to be around £4m, going on to make 19 top flight appearances, although couldn't prevent Eddie Howe's side from being relegated.

With Jason Tindall taking charge in the off season, the defender started off with a goal in the 3-2 win over Blackburn Rovers in September, playing 12 times, before suffering a knee injury in the 4-2 win against his old Royals side last month, which is expected to keep him out for two months.

On a possible reunion, Jones said: “It would be nice to see Jack just not on the pitch as Jack is a very good player and we don’t want him coming back with any added motivation.

"The fact he’s injured is something that I don’t ever want for Jack as I care about Jack deeply, but I’m sure he if travels we’ll get a cup of coffee.”
