Kinsella can’t wait to experience Kenilworth Road atmosphere

The 20-year-old signed until the end of the season from Premier League Aston Villa last week and started Town’s 2-1 defeat at Northampton on Saturday.

With over 8,000 expected for the crucial clash against their fellow play-off hopefuls, Kinsella said: “I can’t wait, that’s what I’ve been looking forward to most, playing at home.

“My dad told me the Luton support is very good away and at home where it’s the second highest attendance in the league.

“Hopefully the fans can push us and get us out of this bad run of games, I’m sure they will.”

Kinsella has only been at the club for a week, but is confident from what he has seen so far that Hatters can turn around their awful run of six straight defeats.

He continued: “All the lads have welcomed me since I’ve come through the door.

“They’re a good bunch of lads, there’s a good bit of banter going around.

“I’m sure we’re a good enough team to get out of this losing run and do well.”

Meanwhile, boss John Still was looking forward to the Exeter game this weekend, with the Devon side just three points below them.

He said: “The games that we’re playing at the moment, they’re the best games to play and it will be good game on Friday.”

Town are also in action on Easter Monday, when they visit Tranmere Rovers, who are battling relegation, sitting in the bottom two.

Still continued: “I really did think they would move out of trouble when Micky Adams took over.

“This is a tougher league than I came out of when I left Dagenham.

“It’s just disappointing that we’ve not had the players available as I really felt we could have a great season.”

Although Luton find themselves out of the play-offs for the first time since early October, Still remains optimistic they can retain their place before the end of the campaign.

He added: “We’ve got to believe we can win four games or so, draw a few and get in the play-off group.

“We might have a few more players back fit and available and that might just give us a little boost.

“All we can do is hope that we’re okay player-wise, fitness wise and go and play, try and get a win.

“We’ve got to try and win four or five games, it’s as simple as that, so we’ll be ready for both of those games.”
