Defender Peter Kioso has been handed his full debut for the club in tonight’s Carabao Cup third round clash against Manchester United.

The youngster moved to Kenilworth Road in January after signing from Hartlepool and will now go up against the likes of Donny van de Beek and Juan Mata this evening.

Luton boss Nathan Jones has made nine changes in total, with only Rhys Norrington-Davies and Sonny Bradley keeping their places from Saturday's 2-1 win over Derby County.

Ahead of the game, assistant boss Mick Harford said: “It’s going to be a test whoever they put out, if he makes 10, 11 changes from Saturday which he probably will, they're full of internationals, they are top players.

“It’s going to be a tough game for us and we'll make it as hard as possible for them in terms of setting our team out and go and try and be positive and try to win the game.

“It’s a great game tonight for everyone connected with the football club, arguably the biggest club in the world, it’s great to invite them down and challenge them.

“It would have been one of the greatest occasions, playing United in a League Cup, with the lights on on a Tuesday night at Kenilworth Road, it would have been amazing.

“It would have probably led to a much better game, much better atmosphere, but that’s the way it is at the moment.

“We’ve got to deal with it and it’s just a real, real shame for the fans, it’s a fixture they would enjoy and they’re going to miss.”

Boss Nathan Jones was also gutted there were no fans present, saying: ““It’s a massive shame as these are the nights that the Kenny loves and they’re great occasions.

"It would make it a much more nail-biting, fluent, rollercoaster of a night with the crowd, a bit more swashbuckling if you like.

"Now it’s more of a leveller for them then it is for us, which is ironic."
