With Paul Benson out until the new year after breaking his leg against Mansfield recently, there is a spot available to partner leading scorer Mark Cullen.

Fellow summer signings Charlie Walker and Ricky Miller are both battling it out with Lafayette, but he is hoping to get the nod.

He said: “It’s frustrating we’ve lost Benno.

“He’s been a big player for us this year and you never want to see one of your fellow pros out.

“But now it’s for the rest of us to step up, not just myself,

“I’ll be aiming to take his place if possible, try to kick on and get some goals for us and be that target man.

“It’s crying out to be taken and it’s up to one of us to try to take that and hopefully that’s myself.”
