LOAN WATCH: Lee starts as Oxford hammer six past Crewe
Minutes for Osho in Rochdale defeat
Luton attacker Elliot Lee started as Oxford United thrashed Crewe Alexandra 6-0 at Gresty Road in League One on Saturday to equal their record away win.
The visitors took the lead on 37 minutes, when Josh Ruffels headed home and added two more before the break, James Henry and Elliott Moore on target.
United didn’t let up in the second period, Brandon Barker and Cameron Brannagan netting in quick succession as Lee went off just after the hour mark, with Sam Winnall making it 6-0 late on.
Defender Gabriel Osho was in the starting line-up as Rochdale’s League One survival hopes took another blow, beaten 1-0 at Fleetwood Town.
After a goalless first half, it was the Cod Army who scored what proved to be the only goal of the game, when Wes Burns’ low ball was turned into his own net by Eoghan O’Connell.
Aaron Morley came agonisingly close to earning Dale a point in the closing stages, but defeat means they stay at the bottom, now six points from safety with seven games to go.
Full back Peter Kioso missed Northampton's 1-1 draw with Bristol Rovers due to a groin injury.
He is hoping to feature in the trip to Peterborough this weekend, as boss Jon Brady said: "Pete's struggling and his groin isn't great at the moment.
“We need to let the dust settle with Peter.
“We tried with a fitness test on Saturday morning but it wasn't any good.
“We're just really hoping it will settle.”
Josh Neufville didn't play as Yeovil Town’s matches with Aldershot on Saturday and tonight’s clash at home to Maidenhead United were both postponed due to the tragic death of Glovers captain Lee Collins at the age of 32 recently.
