Luton defender Gabriel Osho played 90 minutes as he helped Rochdale to a first victory of his loan spell, an excellent 2-1 win at Bristol Rovers on Saturday, to help Dale move away from the League One relegation zone.

The visitors were in front on 16 minutes when Alex Newby tapped home from Matt Lund's flick on.

Luke Leahy then levelled before the break, only for Newby to score again in the second period to earn his side all three points.

Although Osho will spend the remainder of the campaign at the Crown Oil Arena, Hatters boss Nathan Jones expects him to be battling for a place in Town's first team next season.

He said: "He didn’t have much of a pre-season, so we loaned him to Yeovil to get game time and he had a very good loan there.

"We knew the club he was going to, so we were delighted with that.

“It’s about getting him tested again, we’re well-stocked in the defensive areas and some are slightly ahead of him, but he’s one we’ve got very high hopes for.

"With him getting a pre-season and competing with those around him, we’ll see where he is.

"In the interim, let’s get him games, let’s get him tested and let’s get real development into him, because that’s what he needs.

“Rochdale’s a real good club, with a good manager that play in a good way, so he’s going to get an education there, not just games.”

Midfielder Andrew Shinnie and defender Peter Kioso were forced to sit out as Charlton's game with Portsmouth and Northampton's contest against Wigan were both called off due to waterlogged pitches.

Attacker Josh Neufville started as Yeovil Town saw off Dover Athletic 3-1 in the National League.

The visitors had led on 13 minutes through Ade Azeez, as the Glovers threatened a comeback when Neufville was fouled on the edge of the box and Michael Kelly's free kick struck the wall.

Just before the break, Yeovil equalised as Joe Quigley netted from Reuben Reid's pass, as he then made it 2-1 eight minutes into the second period.

Neufville then turned provider, his cross hooked into the top corner by Rhys Murphy with 12 minutes remaining, before the goalscorer was brought down in the area for a penalty, Quigley seeing his hat-trick attempt saved.

Goalkeeper Harry Isted was denied a third debut for Wealdstone as their game with Solihull Moors was postponed.
