Any Luton supporter who can afford to buy a season ticket during the current coronavirus pandemic will be helping the Hatters 'enormously', according to chief executive Gary Sweet.

With the football season suspended until April 30 at the earliest, it means that Town have seen their income drop like a stone with no match-day revenue or ticket sales.

The club have frozen the price of all season tickets for fans who choose to renew their seats during the Earlybird period – which ends as soon as the outcome of the 2019-20 campaign is eventually decided

Speaking about how any sales now will help benefit the Hatters, Sweet said: “What’s really important for us at the moment, and I realise and appreciate that everybody’s personal situation is quite different and everybody is quite concerned about their own personal circumstances, but if you can afford to buy a season ticket, please do.

“Because that will help enormously in keeping Luton Town Football Club together and ready and raring to go when we can come back.”

Season tickets for the 2020/21 campaign went on sale last month and are available online via the Hatters' official website.

A number have already been snapped up, with a club statement saying: "We would like to thank all supporters who have renewed their season tickets so far, with their investment helping the club’s cashflow situation at this extremely difficult time.

"We would also like to thank those extremely generous supporters who have made additional donations, expressing their wish to help the club survive and come through this period in the best possible shape.

"Every single one is greatly appreciated."
