Luton defender Peter Kioso will play no further part for on-loan side Northampton Town this season after suffering a double hernia injury.

The 21-year-old had made 21 appearances for the Cobblers after signing in January, scoring three times, as they were relegated from League One following a 3-0 home defeat to Blackpool last weekend.

Kioso also spent time with League Two Bolton Wanderers earlier in the campaign, playing 14 games and netting three goals, while he made his full Town debut in the 3-0 Carabao Cup defeat to Manchester United, meaning he has featured in 37 matches this term, with six goals.

However, speaking to the press this afternoon, Cobblers boss Jon Brady said: Unfortunately Peter Kioso is out now.

"He's had his scan and he's done a double hernia.

"He's been playing through that until we finally got a scan done and that just shows the character and the attitude of the lad because he's put himself out there for us over the last four or five weeks."
