Luton defender Tom Lockyer has withdrawn from Wales' squad for Wednesday's World Cup qualifier away to Belgium because of his ankle injury.

The centre half, who was back on the bench for Town's 1-0 win at Preston North End on Saturday, now won't get a chance to add to his 13 caps and will stay at Kenilworth Road, also missing Saturday's friendly with Mexico and a second World Cup qualifier at home to the Czech Republic next Tuesday.

Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey and Spurs defender Ben Davies are also out as Wales assistant boss Robert Page said: "It's not great news for us.

"It's not ideal preparation with only two days before the game, but it is what it is and we've got to react to that now and pick a team who we think can win us the game."
