Town duo Tom Lockyer and Joe Morrell both featured as Wales drew 0-0 in their friendly clash against the United States held at Swansea City last night.

Lockyer started the game, going on to complete the full 90 minutes to win his 13th cap, while Morrell, who picked up cap number 10 when coming on late in the second half, became the 55th Hatters player to feature for his country in a full international, and 11th to play for Wales.

Luton's on-loan Sheffield United full back Rhys Norrington-Davies was an unused substitute, while with assistant coach Robert Page in charge in the absence of manager Ryan Giggs, it was a much-changed Welsh side who took to the field as they were outplayed in the first half.

Barcelona's Konrad de la Fuente shot over, while after the break, Sebastian Lletget and Ulysses Llanez both forced sub keeper Danny Ward into action.

Late on, US stopper and captain Zack Steffen had to be alert to smother a shot by Brennan Johnson, as Morrell, on for Dylan Levitt with 10 minutes to go, was one of five second half changes.

Speaking afterwards, Page said: "With regards to keeping a clean sheet and confidence, we've kept that momentum going.

"It was always going to be a tough game.

"We had to defend in numbers, we had to be disciplined in our defensive performance.

"On the ball, there's areas where we need to improve, absolutely.

"We addressed that at half-time and I thought we were slightly better in the second half."

Wales now face two home Nations League Group games against the Republic of Ireland on Sunday and Finland on Wednesday evening.
