Luton are setting up a scheme for supporters to see their face in the crowd at Kenilworth Road when the Championship returns later this month.

The Hatters face nine games to save their status in the second tier, five of them at home and four away, starting with the visit of Preston North End on Saturday, June 20.

With matches to be played behind closed doors due to the coronavirus pandemic, Town have launched the 'Hatters Home from Home' project this morning to help the players feel more at home on a match-day and also raise some much-needed funds for the club too.

A statement on the club website said: "Of course, when the football does return – things within the stadium will look very different as matches will take place with 10,000+ missing ingredients… YOU and your fellow supporters!

"But even though you can’t be there in person, we can now offer you a creative way of taking a seat in the stands!

"By purchasing a ‘Hatters Home from Home’ plaque, you can upload your own photographs which will be printed on a weatherproof board and affixed to one of the seats within the stands.

"The aim is to push up the matchday ‘attendance’ as much as possible with the photos of supporters, while helping the players to feel at home at Kenilworth Road.

"Each board costs just £25, and will remain in place in the stands until the end of the season.

"As a club, we’re strong advocates of a traditional, authentic football experience.

"But with the absence supporters in the ground on a matchday, we’re doing whatever we can to bring an enjoyable experience to you at home, whilst raising some vital funds to keep the club going during the Coronavirus pandemic.

"Every board purchased with help us to replace some of the income from bars, kiosks and retail sales."

The club has warned supporters that offensive and inappropriate images will not be used, which 'include but are not limited to nudity, offensive gestures, people of notoriety and Watford Shirts!'
