Luton make striker signing

HATTERS have snapped up Kidderminster Harriers striker Tommy Wright on a three-month deal.

The 27-year-old has arrived at Kenilworth Road in time for tomorrow night’s Blue Square Bet Premier clash with leaders Wrexham

Wright, who only featured twice for Harriers this campaign, spent last season at Darlington where he scored four goals in 22 games, while before then he was at Grimsby Town.

The former England U19 and U20 striker started his career at Leicester City, before spells with Brentford and Blackpool, while he also cost Scottish Premier League side Aberdeen £75,000 in August 2008 where he netted two goals in 22 appearances.

Hatters boss Gary Brabin said: “Tommy’s a physical, goalscoring forward, the kind of player that we’ve been looking for.

“He’s come here with a hunger and desire to score goals and with the quality of players around him here he’ll certainly get the best chance to achieve what I know he’s capable of.”
