Luton midfielder Jordan Clark has signed a new contract with the Hatters.

The 27-year-old moved to Kenilworth Road on a free transfer from League One Accrington Stanley in August and has made 19 appearances so far this season, scoring twice.

Speaking to the official website about his extension, Clark said: “I’m really happy to be committing my future to Luton Town.

“I’ve really enjoyed my time here so far and have been made to feel welcome by everyone at the club, from the directors to the management, coaches, the rest of the squad and the fans.

“Those two games in which we were able to have them at the stadium were fantastic and I can’t wait to experience a packed Kenilworth Road once everything gets back to normal.

“We’ve had a promising first four months of the season and I feel that I’ve played my part, but I know there’s much more to come as I get more and more used to the Championship by the week.

“We’ve got some great lads here who have helped me settle in so quickly and the team spirit is unreal.

“We know that we can improve further on what we’ve done so far and we want to kick on and establish ourselves as a top half of the table team.”

Clark began his career with Barnsley, with loan spells at Chesterfield, Scunthorpe and Hyde, joining Shrewsbury Town permanent in the summer of July 2014.

He played over 50 times for the Shrews, where he was a team-mate of Town striker James Collins, heading to Accrington in August 2016, making almost 200 appearances for Stanley.

Boss Nathan Jones added: “Jordan came in during the summer from a lower level and it was an opportunity for him to play in the Championship.

“He’s quickly proved he’s a Championship player and we’re delighted with the progress he’s shown, so much so that we felt we needed to secure his future.

“From the moment I met him and spoke to him, I knew ‘Clicker’ would be a great fit for us and the more we see in training and matches, that is reinforced.

“This contract extension is deserved and it gives him that bit more security as he settles in the area.”
