Luton have been tipped to bring in Nottingham Forest U23s coach Chris Cohen to bolster the backroom staff at Kenilworth Road.

The 33-year-old former midfielder, who came through the ranks at West Ham United, has been at the City Ground for well over a decade, signing for the Reds in 2007 from Yeovil, going on to play more than 300 games.

On retiring due to injury in April 2018, he was named Academy technical coach, promoted to the role of U23s coach in January of this year.

However, the Athletic's Forest reporter Paul Taylor has stated Cohen will now move south to link up with Town chief Nathan Jones, whom he was with at Yeovil earlier in his career.

Jones revealed recently, he was looking to add one more member to his backrooom staff, with Taylor saying this morning: "Expect official confirmation that Chris Cohen is taking up a first team coaching role at Luton Town today.

"End of an era at #NFFC where he is close to legend status after 13 years at the club. 300+ appearances, a promotion and the will to fight back from three ACL injuries.

"He’s big mates with Luton boss Nathan Jones, who he played with at Yeovil. The U23 coach departs for a more senior role at Luton."
