Luton Town suffer setback in transfer race for goal-scoring midfielder, Stoke City could net £10m transfer windfall

Luton Town were knocked out of the FA Cup last weekend, when a strong Chelsea side showed their top tier quality to secure a 3-1 win at Stamford Bridge, despite a spirited performance from the Hatters.

Luton boss Nathan Jones used his post-match press conference to express his frustration with the match officials over their methods of handling his complaints, following a controversial decision to allow Chelsea's opening goal to stand despite two balls being on the field at the start of the move.Jones claimed: "When I went to speak to the referee, he literally couldn't make eye contact with me, he treated me with the biggest amount of disrespect I've ever been treated with and just kept quoting a rule book about something I wasn't actually asking him, so it puzzled me."Next up, the Hatters travel to take on Blackburn Rovers in the Championship next weekend, and will be hopeful of picking up another three points to aid their attempts to a comfortable mid-table finish.Meanwhile, the transfer window is in full swing, and the Hatters could yet bring in some further signings this month, after securing the services of Kal Naithsmith earlier in January. Here's our round-up of the latest news and transfer talk involving Luton Town and the rest of the second-tier:
