Mackail-Smith a ‘definite maybe’ for Stevenage clash

Hatters striker Craig Mackail-Smith is rated as a ‘definite maybe’ for this weekend’s League Two trip to Stevenage by boss John Still.

The summer signing has missed the last two games with a hamstring problem, but is back in training now.

He was joined by Nathan Doyle, although the fixture will come just too early for the midfielder as Still said: “Craig has just started training, but his fitness levels were decent anyway, and although he’s been out, he’s been able to do quite a bit of work whereas Doyle hasn’t.

“He’s just started training, so I would say Doyle no for the weekend, Craig a definite maybe, we’ll see how he is tomorrow after a good session today.”

Both Paul Benson and Danny Green should be available after making their return to the side for the 2-0 win over Barnet last weekend, while there was further good news on both Magnus Okuonghae and Steve O’Donnell.

Still added: “Dan has reacted really, really well as he was off sick! But he’s in today, trained today, there was a little bit of a bug about, but he’s okay, while Benno is absolutely fine.

“Magnus has come back from Hartlepool now, he had a slight foot problem, so he’s out doing a bit now and I think possibly a week or so for him.

“We’re looking at a reasonably fit squad, Steve O’Donnell is back in training after his operation, so I’m quite pleased squad wise.”
