The 31-year-old free agent partnered summer signing Josh McQuoid upfront, with run-outs for virtually all of Town’s first team squad who had travelled bar Pelly Ruddock, Zane Banton, Magnus Okuonghae, Paddy McCourt and Dan Potts.

Hatters, who fielded three trialists, went on to win 1-0, new signing Stephen O’Donnell scoring the only goal of the game as he headed in Luke Guttridge’s corner.

After the break, Hatters changed all 10 outfield players, as Jack Marriott fired narrowly over and Danny Green saw his long range free kick saved.
