Money: Dons postponement was correct decision

Clubs see sense as temperatures drop

SENSIBLE decisions are being made as the cold weather sets in according to Hatters boss Richard Money, writes Mark Wood

Tuesday night’s trip to table-topping AFC Wimbledon was called off because of a frozen pitch, and Money believes that was the right decision.

The Luton boss said: “You don’t want a big game played on a treacherous pitch.

“I think both teams would want to go and play their best.

“If the weather was that bad, it’s a sensible decision.”

Money also backed the decision to put Town’s FA Trophy first round tie with Welling United back 24 hours until Sunday, December 12.

The game has been moved due to the Hatters’ televised FA Cup second round replay with Charlton Athletic that is taking place on Thursday, December 9.

They earned their second chance after putting in a fantastic performance to draw 2-2 with the Addicks at the Valley on Saturday.

Money added: “That’s a sensible decision and we are pleased with that.

“We are thankful for Welling to agree to that which is good news.”

Tickets purchased for the match will still be valid for the revised date.
