Town boss stunned as Crawley claim a crucial 2-1 victory

HATTERS boss Richard Money was lost for words after his side suffered a cruel 2-1 defeat to Blue Square Bet Premier leaders Crawley Town on Tuesday night, writes Mike Simmonds.

With 10 minutes remaining, Town were leading 1-0 through Andy Drury’s penalty but somehow contrived to gift their opponents two late goals.

The result saw Hatters fall eight points behind their big-spending rivals and a speechless Money said: “Sometimes in football, words fail you and this was one of those.

“To come off the pitch not with three points is a joke, to come off with nothing is an absolute travesty.

“Sometimes words are difficult to explain really.

“I thought the players were fantastic and thought it was a great game.

“I really don’t think there was a poor player on the pitch.

“We’ve got the game won and just gone to sleep for a short corner and then made a crucial error with virtually the last kick of the game.”

“I personally felt quite comfortable that we would see the game through, but you can’t see those two incidents happening.”
