O’Donnell won over by Hatters’ potential

New signing Stephen O’Donnell admitted it wasn’t a difficult decision to swap Scotland for Luton Town, once he had seen the club’s lofty plans for the future.

The in-demand full back had a number of options available to him after his contract with Scottish Premier League side Partick Thistle ran out.

“I thought for a start about the average crowd of 9,000, while bringing 40,000 to Wembley a couple of seasons ago as those figures are big figures.

“Matched with what the board and the manager was telling me, showing me what their plans are for the future, then those two things marked together means it can only be a successful club.”

O’Donnell believes there is no reason Hatters can’t aim to make it back to the Championship during his time at Kenilworth Road and then look to emulate the likes of Southampton and Bournemouth with attempts to win promotion to the Premier League after that.
