In a season that the Hatters suffered play-off heartache at the hands of AFC Wimbledon, Amari Morgan-Smith and Robbie Willmott netted in the first half, before the final six minutes saw Freddie Murray, Jason Walker, Zdenek Kroca and Claude Gnakpa all find the net. Below, the Luton News takes a special look at just who took to the field for Town that day.
1. GK: Mark Tyler
Experienced keeper made 43 appearances in the Conference that season, keeping 21 clean sheets during the regular campaign.
2. RB: Adam Newton
Defender was injured for large parts of the season, but returned in March to feature heavily during the run-in as Town went on to suffer play-off misery once more.
3. LB: Freddie Murray
Defender managed just two league goals during his 12-year career, one for Stevenage and the other in this game, his cross deflecting past Sandgrounders keeper Tony McMillan for Luton's third.
4. CD: George Pilkington
Reliable skipper only missed one league game all season, and that was due to being rested ahead of the play-offs, as he played 56 times in all competitions.
