Pitch battle shows youngsters’ mettle

A DIVOTED and bobbly Steel Park pitch will put the Hatters in good stead for next season according to attacking left-back JJ O’Donnell, writes Mark Wood.

Physical Corby eventually bullied their way to a 2-1 victory over Luton on Saturday, despite a ferocious strike from Christian Tavernier, as a first half goal from target man Matt Rhead and a winner from former Hatter Andy Burgess proved too much for Town.

But O’Donnell was philosophical about the defeat and believes it will help Luton’s youngsters who played in the long run.
