The summer signing from West Ham United followed on from his half at Boreham Wood on Tuesday night with the entire game and speaking afterwards, said: “It’s definitely come a lot sooner than I had thought.

“I know physically I’m capable of going 90 minutes quite early on in preseason but I had only done 45 so far.

“It was nice to get 90 done and feel not too bad afterwards too.”

Although the Canaries were hit for 10 by another set of Canaries, Norwich City, on Tuesday night, there was little chance of that happening once more, with Luton rarely looking like scoring, Josh McQuoid and Cameron McGeehan going closest in either half.

Potts looked for the positives though, focusing on a first shut-out for Town’s new-look squad after the 1-1 draw at Boreham Wood, saying: “Credit to them, I thought they came out and definitely gave it their all.

“From our point of view, playing at the back, it’s always good to keep a clean sheet. We just couldn’t stick the ball in the back of the net and goals wins games, but the clean sheet will be a pleasing point for the gaffer and everyone.”
