Town defender Dan Potts is determined for the Hatters to put right their shocking performance at Cardiff City when they host the Bluebirds at Kenilworth Road this evening.

Back in November, Luton went down 4-0 in Wales as they were blown away in the opening 10 minutes, conceding twice.

They were breached a further two times in the second period, falling to their worst defeat of the season, as although Potts himself didn’t feature on the day, he said: “It’s another good game, another tough game.

"Early on in the season they got one over us so we’ll definitely be trying to put that right, that’s for sure.”

Boss Nathan Jones described himself as 'embarrassed' after the game, declaring Town's efforts as the 'worst performance' of his two spells in charge of the Hatters.

On the chance to make amends this evening, he said: “We let ourselves down there by not doing the basics right.

"Normally we do the basics very, very well, at times we lack a little bit of top end quality at this level, but we normally do the basics well, so that came as a real, real shock.

“It doesn’t happen very often, they don’t normally do that, I’ve got an honest group here, a hard-working group that puts their bodies on the line and that’s what we're going to have to do and then play with a little bit of quality as we want to win the game.

“It’s not quite making amends but if we don’t do the basics well then we won’t get anything from the game.

"That’s pretty clear from how Cardiff play and when you come up against a Mick McCarthy side, you know you have to do the basics well as he’s always a front-footed manager."

Although Town began a run of 11 games in 36 days with a 1-0 triumph at Birmingham on Saturday, on whether he would look to rotate his squad tonight, Jones added: "What you’ve got to do is take each game as it comes.

"Every game is a different tactical challenge, Cardiff pose a certain threat which we’re going to need to combat, and we’ll pick a team accordingly.

“I’m pretty much as strong as I can be, I’ve got one minor issue which we’re checking on, but apart from that a full quota."
