Writing his weekly predictions piece for Sky Sports, pundit David Prutton backed a shock 2-1 win for Nathan Jones' side.

Justifying his pick, Prutton claimed: "It really is a shame there will be no fans in for this one! There are few more special things in football than two big rivals meeting for the first time in years. 14 in fact, since the pair last met.

"Watford will be happy enough with the start they have made, particularly when you consider the fact their squad is still a little in flux and they have (another) new manager in.

"Luton will be delighted! Two wins from two in the Championship so far, and they pushed Manchester United almost all the way in the cup in midweek. I think they could spring a surprise on Saturday."

The Hatters head into the match in fine spirits, despite their midweek Carabao Cup loss to the Red Devils, and will be hopeful of continuing their surge up the second tier table.

Speaking ahead of the match, midfielder Ryan Tunnicliffe revealed his desire to break back into the first team, and told Luton Today: "I've just got to be patient, train hard, do all the right stuff, be professional and when I get my chance take it. Because as a footballer, I want to play every game I can play and I want to be in that team."
