Revealed: The five-figure cash sum Luton Town have earned in FA Cup despite loss to Chelsea

The FA Cup is over for Luton Town until next season after Nathan Jones’ side were defeated by Chelsea on Sunday.

But Luton's run to the fourth round will be rewarded with a financial boost – courtesy of the FA Cup’s prize fund.

Although the FA confirmed the prize money fund would be reduced this season following the pandemic, winners in each round are able to earn cash.

The Hatters pocketed £82,000 after their win over Reading in the third round.

That means in total Luton have gained that sumin FA Cup prizemoneyduring their run this year, with no money on offer to losers of fourth round ties.
