Hatters keeper Simon Sluga has been nominated for the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month award for June.

The 27-year-old kept one clean sheet during the three games played, that in a superb 1-0 win at Swansea City, before making a string of fine saves as Town held league leaders Leeds United to a 1-1 draw at Elland Road, including a brilliant double stop.

Sluga's nomination read: "His early season struggles were forgotten when he emerged from the lay-off to make a string of brilliant saves as Luton continued their revival.

"A superb stop earned the win at Swansea, while he was outstanding in the 1-1 draw at Leeds."

The Croatian international is up against Swansea City's on-loan Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster, plus Charlton Athletic defender Jason Pearce and Derby County attacker Louie Sibley.

The Manager of the Month award is between Lee Bowyer (Charlton Athletic), Paul Cook (Wigan Athletic), Thomas Frank (Brentford) and Neil Harris (Cardiff City) with the winners to be announced tomorrow morning.

The judging panel comprises former Barnsley manager and Luton midfielder Danny Wilson, Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman; EFL Communications Director Mark Rowan, and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies.
