Smith signs three year deal with Hatters
The 28-year-old, who also has the option to extend that to a fourth year, made his 100th appearance for Luton in the final game of the season against Stevenage last weekend.
Smith was signed, initially on loan from York City, in October 2012 and made his debut in a 1-0 defeat at Hereford United in the Conference.

Hide AdHe then joined permanently for £50k in January 2013 and was a key part of the Town side that won the Conference title last term, despite breaking his leg in two places during the Boxing Day win against Barnet.
This campaign, Smith has made 40 appearances, and walked off with three prizes at the supporters’ end-of-season awards night, including the players’ player of the year and internet player of the year.
He was also named the News/Gazette Hatter of the Year too, plus winning the most online man of the match votes too on the Luton News website.
Before the deal was announced, Smith made it clear he was looking to stay, saying: “I love this club to bits. I know it’s easy to say that, but I really enjoy playing for Luton and I’d be very sad if I didn’t get to play any more.”
