The 18-year-old Tottenham starlet penned a deal until the end of the season on transfer deadline day on Monday, and is now hoping to take to the field at the Kassam Stadium for what would be his pro debut.

Oduwa said: “I’m very happy and excited to get started. I’ve had my first training session and loved it.

“I’m preparing for Saturday against Oxford United now. I’ve heard it’s like a mini derby, so I’m raring to go and hopefully I can contribute to the team’s efforts on Saturday.”

On exactly what Oduwa will add to his side’s attacking options, Luton boss John Still said: “He’s six foot one, powerful, quick and I mean electric quick.

“He’s two footed, he can go inside, go outside, can go off of both feet.

“He’s a really nice young man as well. We were trying to do it for a while and couldn’t, eventually we did it and the first time I spoke to him, he wanted to thank me for the opportunity to come here.

“I know he’s very highly rated at Tottenham and he’s thanking me, so that tells you a little bit about the lad.”

Still is hoping that having both Oduwa and Ryan Hall available for selection will help out a strikeforce that hasn’t netted twice away from home since October 18.

He added: “Not having Pelly (Ruddock Mpanzu) fit and Alex Lawless fit, people that can get past people, we’ve missed that.

“Although we haven’t scored as many goals as we’d like, I’m not sure it’s because we’ve missed too many chances as I’m not sure we’ve made enough opportunities.

“If you look at Saturday, that first half against Cambridge. we made opportunities and we scored opportunities.

“The players we’ve brought in will help us make more opportunities and will give us a great boost at a very, very important time.”
