Start date announced for Luton Town's 2020-21 Championship season

Luton Town celebrate staying in the Championship on Wednesday night

Luton will begin their 2020-21 Championship campaign on the weekend of September 12 after the EFL confirmed the date this afternoon.

The season will conclude on the May 8/9 weekend, 2021, with the play-off finals reverting back to the Spring Bank Holiday weekend at the end of May.

Town ensured they will remain in the second tier after a 3-2 win over Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday night, escaping the relegation zone in the final round of matches.

A statement from the EFL said: "Work is currently underway in respect of fixture scheduling and details will be announced in due course as to when full fixture lists for 2020/21 will be made available."
