Still believes he has added that magic touch to his Hatters squad

Hatters boss John Still believes he has managed to add that creative spark to his side with the addition of both Paddy McCourt and Danny Green.

McCourt was snapped up on Wednesday afternoon after he left Brighton, while Green joined once his contract with MK Dons was terminated.

On the addition of McCourt, who has played for Celtic and could feature in next year’s European Championships with Northern Ireland, Still said: “What we set out to do and we’ve been able to do is bring in a touch more creativity in, a touch more threat going forward.

“We looked for player that could provide a little bit of magic, a little bit of something different.

“I think we’ve done well to get him as sometimes you get a bit of help through friendships and he was aware that Luton are ambitious.”

Meanwhile, Green was an instrumental part of the Dagenham team that Still masterminded to League Two play-off glory back in 2010.

Still added: “Danny knows us and when he came back from injury last year at MK, he found it hard to get back in the team.

“With them going up, he had a chat there, and didn’t want assurances he’d be a regular, but he wanted to feel that he was in the frame.

“Although from his conversation, everyone was on a clean sheet of paper, he felt that he might not get as many games as he would like.

“So when we spoke to him, the combination of he’s played for me so knows what we’re about, but he’s also aware that Luton are progressive club, that just went together very well.”
