The 24-year-old penned a short term contract last month but has impressed greatly since forcing his way into the first team, making five appearances so far.

Still said: “It was a case of just getting him in and getting it going, but any time soon, there’ll be a more permanent deal and I explained that to Olly.

“We’ve had Olly before, so it was one of those where if we could make it work, we wanted to make it work.

“It wasn’t possible at the time, but that’s done now and we’re really pleased with that and his contributions have been very good.

“I didn’t doubt that it would be though as he’s showing he’s a good player and an important player for us as well.”

Midfield partner Jonathan Smith has been impressed with the impact made by the former Birmingham and West Ham player, adding: “He’s been superb since he’s come in, he’s fitted in really well, You can see his quality on the ball and he’s definitely comfortable at this level.”
