In his programme notes for the Exeter City clash on Good Friday, Sweet urged Hatters to learn from a number of errors at management level this season that could have been averted.

When asked if he concurred with those sentiments, Still said: “Absolutely, if you go round to any football club and say to the manager have you made any mistakes, and they say no, he’s telling you lies, because we all make mistakes.”

On what he felt his own errors had been, the Luton boss said: “I think possibly on the playing side, we might have lost a little bit of balance in the left back position and we might have lost a bit of balance in the wide areas as well.

“We had two or three things in mind from the start of the season, but I waited for a left back that ended up going somewhere else, so I can’t do anything about that,

“We wanted a wide player, we tried hard to get one and that didn’t work.

“Has it taught me anything? It hasn’t really taught me anything but I might have worked something a bit differently to try and make what I wanted to happen.”
