Still not fussed about League Two table

Town have a chance to claw some of that gap back and could move into eighth with victory over Leyton Orient this evening as when asked if the club’s current position bothered him, Still said: “Not really, I think we’re six points from automatic, and that’s a fair reflection on our season.

“The season for me, other than second half Saturday, if I’d have to have written it, it’s how I’d have written it.

“How we might have started? I thought we deserved more points than we got. How I thought we would play? Where we were on Saturday before the game, I thought we might be there.

“I expected us to play well on Saturday so for 45 minutes, the games have gone how I believed they would.

“In the current form league we’re second in that. Our form has been good, we’ve just been poor for 45 minutes on Saturday, so we’ve got to go back to what we were doing.”

Standing in Hatters way of an immediate return to winning ways are an Orient side managed by Ian Hendon, who is a very familiar face to the Luton boss.

He continued: “I’ve known him for years and I liked him more when he was at West Ham than we do now!

“They started well and just fell away a little bit, but Orient are a decent side and Ian’s a good guy.

“They’re guys there, Ian and Hessy, Andy Hessenthaler one of my old players, Lee Harrison is one of my old players, so it’s got a local ring about it.

“It’s not a local derby, but has that sort of feel about it.”

Although Luton triumphed when the two side’s met in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy earlier this season, winning 2-1, it wasn’t something Still was reading anything into ahead of tonight’s clash.

He said: “I think we put that to one side even if we both had full teams out, it was a cup game, cup games are different.

“Regardless of what teams we put out it was another day, another situation. So we’ll play this game and not really call on the last game we played.

“We’ve watched them and we understand their strengths and weaknesses, so that’s all we’ll worry about.”

Still is also hoping that Orient will come out and try to attack Luton after seeing the last few opponents at Kenilworth Road, particularly York City, set their stall out for a point.

He added: “I think it will be more open, because we’re really trying hard to attack as much as we can.

“We think we’ve got goals in us, and I hope they want to attack. We’ve played some games here when teams have come and you’re working hard to break them down.

“I think they’ll come and try and take their game to us as much as we try to take our game to them.”
