Still not looking to loan before deadline

Town boss John Still isn’t anticipating making any loan signings before the window shuts at 5pm this afternoon.

Still had said in previous weeks he might be tempted if one of his targets became available, but appears to now be keeping his powder dry until the January transfer window.

He said: “I’m not bringing anyone in. We have one or two things that might be more hopeful when the transfer window opens, so we might have a bit of luck there.”

Still was hopeful of finally completing a deal for former Sunderland U18s captain Lewis Gibbons this week though, as he added: “The guy that we’re doing this with, I’ve spoken to today, we’re going to speak to him this afternoon and it looks like we might be bang on it at the moment.

“So hopefully this coming week. But he’s not coming to play, so it’s not a big deal, we’re just getting it sorted.”
