Still reveals why Hatters missed out on Ogogo and Collison

Luton Town boss John Still revealed that a difference in opinions over position along with finances were behind missing out on both Abu Ogogo and Jack Collison recently.

Ogogo, 25, who Still had signed when manager at Dagenham & Redbridge, was in talks over a move to Kenilworth Road, but opted to go to League One Shrewsbury after not being guaranteed his favoured midfield role.

Meanwhile, former West Ham midfielder Collison joined Peterborough, as Still confirmed wages were the main sticking point.

He said: “I never actually spoke to Jack, but I know his agent very well. Financially, that was not something we could enter into.

“With Abu, we only went so far with it as Abu wants to play as a midfield playerand I couldn’t guarantee Abu that.”
