Still: Walker found it hard to settle at Kenilworth Road

Town boss John Still believes that recently released striker Charlie Walker found the adjustment to life as a full-time footballer a difficult one.

The 25-year-old, who made just one start and five appearances for the Hatters after signing from Ryman League side Peacehaven in the summer was let go when his contract expired.

Although Walker impressed in the Development League games, Still said: “Charlie was one of those young ones we brought in on no money, as a chance.

“But Charlie and his young lady have had settling difficulties, and that’s not helped him.

“I think he’s found that tough financially and this is the right thing to do for him as much as us, because if you’re not settled, you’re not settled.”

Meanwhile Still also discussed the reasoning behind not offering midfielder Jim Stevenson and striker Alex Wall new deals at the club too.
