Still: Wilkinson was ‘stupid’ to get sent off

The centre half was giving his marching orders for pulling back Matty Palmer in the final moments and will now miss the home game with Mansfield on Saturday.

Still said: “I thought he was stupid, he didn’t have to foul. The fella got through, in a wide area, still had a bit to do, but the emotion of a game takes over sometimes.

“But I’ve got no complaints with the sending off, I’d have given him a red card.”

Still was frustrated with a number of the officials decisions in the first half as he felt Town were denied a clear-cut penalty when Wilkinson had been felled in the area when going for a corner.

He added: “There was a definite penalty in the first half where they pulled back Luke Wilkinson, 100 per cent, but we didn’t get it.

“Sometimes they go for you and sometimes they don’t but I’m not going to criticise the ref.”
