The AFC Bournemouth striker was thrust into the side just a day after making his move to Kenilworth Road.

Stockley said: “I tired towards the end, but felt I gave a good account of myself, especially the first 60 (minutes).

“I got a bit battered up there, but that’s the job you have to do.

“With every game I’ll be getting fitter and stronger and there’s definitely a lot more to come.”

Stockley was asked to lead the line, with Jake Howells and Luke Rooney flanking him, and it was a position he is accustomed to, while he loved his first taste of Kenilworth Road as a Luton player.
