Town striker Carlton Morris believes there is ‘not many greater honour’ than jointly winning the Players’ Player of the Season award at the Luton Town Supporters’ Trust presentation evening last night.

The club record summer signing shared the trophy with defender Tom Lockyer, who walked off with five awards in total on the evening to complete what has been a stellar campaign for the Welsh international.

Morris too had more individual silverware, winning the Signing of the Season award as well, following a debut campaign which has seen him become the first Hatter to score 20 goals in the second tier since the legendary Brian Stein back in the 1981-82 season.

Writing on social media afterwards, the ex-Norwich and Barnsley attacker said: “Not many greater honour than to be recognised by your peers, in any walk of life.

"And especially by this group, Thank you boys.”

Morris has been paired upfront with team-mate Elijah Adebayo for the majority of the season, with the duo a force to be reckoned with in the Championship.

It has been a partnership that the 27-year-old has relished, as he added: “It’s hard to explain, but playing with a player like Eli all season, it takes a lot of focus off me for defenders as it’s hard to deal with both of us at the same time.

"So we sort of play off each other in that sort of way and it’s just a really enjoyable experience to have a strike partner like that.”
