Town boss is ready to spend

Hatters boss John Still will be looking to use the transfer fee recouped from star striker Andre Gray’s move to Brentford to bolster his squad before the League Two season starts.

Town received more than £500,000 for Gray and after signing Andy Drury, Still is turning his eyes to other targets as he said: “I have an idea on the type that I want and we’ve got two or three we’re looking at, but it’s important that I get the right ones and not just anyone.

“There’s a couple of other areas we want to improve and if we do improve them, they might be classed as slightly more experienced players.”

Still also confirmed that a replacement for Gray could be in the pipeline, although believes the transfer might allow Mark Cullen to flourish in his place.

The boss is also searching for a defender to plug the gap left by skipper Ronnie Henry’s departure after he rejected a new contract, but admitted he might rejig his backline to bring another centre half into the squad.
