Town will send an XI to AFC Dunstable on Saturday for the David Preece Memorial Trophy, and then visit Conference side Barnet on Sunday.

With the Bridge Road pitch not ready to host Luton, John Still’s men are then left with a visit to East Thurrock on Wednesday evening before a trio of home matches against Royal Antwerp, Colchester and Peterborough.

Speaking after the 5-0 Hitchin win, the Luton chief said: “We may try and fit one more in somewhere, while there might be a training ground game as well.

“We’ll play at least one 11 against 11, 90 minutes at the training ground amongst ourselves, so that will give us a little bit more.”

Meanwhile, the boss confirmed it will be a stronger side that goes to the Hive on Sunday.

He continued: “I think the Dunstable game will be for some of the young ones as that might be the order of the day there.

“We’ll send maybe a little bit more competitive team in terms of age and experience to Barnet.

“We’ll train tomorrow (Friday), some will play Saturday, but we’ll train Saturday and have two really hard days even though we’re playing Sunday.

“There’s a bit more football now, but two tough days and we’ll play on Sunday.”
