Town seek their money’s worth

LETTING Zdenek Kroca and Claude Gnakpa go will enable the Hatters to get better value for money according to managing director Gary Sweet, writes Mark Wood.

Czech defender Kroca last week joined Scottish Premier League side Kilmarnock on a free transfer after the Hatters refused to meet his requests for a six-figure-a-year deal.

Flying French winger Gnakpa, meanwhile, joined League One Walsall after receiving a similar deal to that offered to him by Luton, but with the opportunity to play two divisions higher.

Sweet said: “It’s about getting the right player in the right place. We made offers to both.”
