Trialist Tiryaki at the double for Hatters in Lowestoft win
Trialist Mustafa Tiryaki scored twice as Luton Town kicked off their pre-season preparations on British soil with a 2-1 victory at Lowestoft Town this afternoon.
The 28-year-old striker, who was most recently with Turkish side Gozetepe before being invited to train at Luton recently, has also had spells at Tranmere Rovers, Cambridge United, Havant & Waterlooville and Maidenhead in his career.

Hide AdTiryaki began upfront alongside Zane Banton as Luton picked a side full of youth teamers and those out of favour out at Kenilworth Road, while the hosts had ex-Hatters Rossi Jarvis and Dan Gleeson in their team.
Defender Curtley Williams had the captains armband, with the match arranged after Town signed him from Lowestoft last season, while Jake Howells, Andy Parry and Matt Robinson all started too.
Early on chances were few and far between, with Banton striking the woodwork, while Howells was soon replaced by James Justin.
Jake Reed went close for the hosts before Town were ahead as Tiryaki nodded home Parry’s delivery.

Hide AdHatters keeper Craig King then kept his side ahead with a fine stop from Reed, while he was indebted to the frame of the goal for keeping out a cross shot.
In the second half, Alex Atkinson replaced Parry, while Isaac Galliford fired at Marcus Garnham with Town moving 2-0 up as Tiryaki climbed highest to head home Justin’s cross.
Justin himself tried to add a third, firing wide, but Lowestoft pulled a goal back in the final 10 minutes as Woods converted from close range, while a marvellous stop from King ensured victory.
Hatters are expected to field a stronger side at Boreham Wood for their next pre-season friendly on Tuesday evening.
