The 37-year-old hasn’t featured in Town’s last three games and when asked how he was coming along, boss John Still said: “Slowly. We’re going to have a scan now as its got a lot better but not quite right yet, so we’ll have a look.”

Understudy Elliot Justham should continue in goal and the manager has been impressed with his efforts after making his Football League debut at AFC Wimbledon recently.

He continued: “Elliot’s done fine. He’s done nothing wrong in any of the games he’s played.

“From the lads that have come in for what might be classed as injured players, Elliot’s done very well as he’s gone from not playing at all.

“If you’re an outfield player you can play a few positions sometimes, come on sub in games, when it’s different for a goalkeeper.

“In fairness to Elliot, he’s done very well and I think he’s got a good future.”

Still also confirmed he didn’t have any plans to venture into the loan market for a back-up keeper, with U18s stopper Craig King on the bench against Bury and Accrington Stanley.

He added: “We’ll go with Craig King at the moment, there’s no need to do that (loan).

“He had a couple of games out on loan with the Met Police where Craig did very well, didn’t let a goal in.

“We’ve had to bring him back, but I think he’s probably enjoyed the bit around the first team.”
