Willmott woe at two misses

GUTTED Robbie Willmott was left to lament two great chances he missed that would have earned the Hatters victory at Newport Stadium on Friday night, writes Marl Wood.

Having stabbed Luton into an 18th-minute lead with his first goal of the club he then missed two one-on-ones in the second half before the Exiles snatched a point when debutant Paul Carden fouled Paul Bignot in the box in the fourth minute of stoppage time and Jamie Collins calmly found the bottom corner to break Hatters’ hearts.

Willmott, 20, making his first Town start, said: “I’m very gutted to be honest. I had two chances to kill the game and get the lads three points.”
