AFC Dunstable fought back from behind to claim a 1-1 draw at Stotfold in the Molten Spartan SML Premier Division on Tuesday night.

Tremayne Charles had given the hosts the lead on 17 minutes, only for Courtney Massey to earn a share of the spoils with his 61st-minute equaliser.

Boss Steve Heath said: “I was pleased with the performance after the poor result on Saturday. We dominated for long periods of the game but need to take our chances.”

It was AFC’s 11th draw of the season, but could have been so different if they had taken their chances.

One change was made from Saturday as Connor Smith replaced Marcus Campbell in the side.

AFC dominated possession and had two decent chances early in the half.

However, Stotfold scored from their first shot at goal when Ryan Darby failed to hold a Charles shot on 17 minutes.

The visitors continued to pin back the Stotfold defence, but just couldn’t find the back of the net as Chris Francis, Ryan Quinn and Smith all went close.

The trend continued after the break as AFC completely dominated the next 30 minutes and they were finally rewarded when Massey fired home on 61 minutes.

AFC looked the most likely winners as a Fabio Bufano’s attempt was blocked, while Ben Butler, Francis and Smith all went close.

Pushing forward, AFC were left open to the counter, as Stotfold woke up in the last 10 minutes and had a couple of shots at goal, but did not really test Darby.
