The Hatters boss has impressed during this three months in charge of the club so far, leading Luton to 10 wins from 19 games.

When asked about going into the next campaign with Jones at the helm, McQuoid said: “It’s going to be an interesting pre-season to see what happens.

“It’s going to be exciting too because he’ll have enough time to work on what he wants to do.

“It’s almost like it’s rushed when you come in mid-season, so it will be interesting to see, when he’s got his time, what he’ll do.

“We should start the season very well and hopefully be where we want to be – where we should have been this season.”

On the impact Jones has had since replacing former boss John Still, McQuoid added: “As everyone can see, he’s passionate, he loves his football and he’d do anything for the club and the players he’s got.

“So it’s a good confidence boost for everyone around the club.

“He talks a lot of sense and you can see by the results we’ve had since he’s come in that he knows what he’s doing.”
