Molten Spartan SML round-up: Daly double earns Kent Athletic victory

AFC Dunstable’s game at London Tigers in the Molten Spartan SML Division and Crawley Green’s Division One game at Buckingham were both postponed.

Kent Athletic prevailed 2-1 against Pitstone & Ivinghoe in Division Two thanks to Pat Daly’s brace (12 and 29), with Tom Elliot replying from the spot with five minutes to go.

A goal four minutes from time saw Totternhoe lose 2-1 at New Bradwell St Peter. Demarlo Smith had put the home side ahead on seven minutes and, although Chris Golding levelled on 33 minutes, Lee Jones scored the late winner.

A great spell either side of half time saw The 61 FC (Luton) dispose of Old Bradwell United 4-1.

Arron Lewis put them ahead on 33 minutes, Shayne Harnett made it two a minute before the break with Lewis scoring his second a minute into injury time.

Brad Currington scored the fourth three minutes into the second half with the visitors’ sole reply coming from Peter Maxey’s 87th-minute penalty.

Reserve Division One saw AFC Dunstable Res lose 4-3 at home to Cockfosters Res, while The 61FC (Luton) Res were thrashed 8-1 at St Margaretsbury Res.

Crawley Green Res came from a goal down to beat Buckingham Athletic 2-1 to maintain their 100 per cent record in Reserve Division Two thanks to late goals from Glen Freeman and Charlie Clayton, while Totternhoe Res beat Biggleswade United Res 1-0.

Crawley host Hertford Town in the second round of the Challenge Trophy on Wednesday night.

Saturday sees AFC Dunstable host Cockfosters, Crawley Green entertain Arlesey Town Res, Kent Athletic got to Old Bradwell United, The 61 FC (Luton) visit Wolverton Town v

AFC Dunstable Res head to Oxhey Jets Res, The 61 FC (Luton) Res away at Stotfold Res and Totternhoe Res host Wolverton Town Res all in league game, while Crawley Green Res are at Henlow in the Beds Intermediate Cup.

Then on Tuesday week Crawley Green visit Harpenden Town.
